Mr. Gürer joined Angelo, Kilday & Kilduff, LLP in August 2018. Prior to joining AKK, Mr. Gürer worked for a prominent business and corporate firm in the Bay Area where he developed both litigation and transactional skills. This dual experience allows Mr. Gürer to approach his client’s issues with a well-rounded perspective and to craft tailored solutions in response.

Mr. Gürer earned his Juris Doctorate in May 2016 from UC Davis School of Law. During law school, Mr. Gurer served as Senior Articles Editor on the UC Davis Law Review and his Note was one of only several selected for publication. Mr. Gürer also competed in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Prior to law school, Mr. Gürer was accepted into the prestigious Capital Fellows Program as a Judicial Administration Fellow. Mr. Gürer was placed in the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, and learned court administration directly from the Court’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Presiding Judge. During his fellowship, Mr. Gürer was tasked with evaluating and analyzing nearly every aspect of the Court in order to create more efficiency. Mr. Gürer considers this experience to have been the perfect pre-law job because it provided him with a landscape on which to learn the law.

Mr. Gürer is from Madison, Wisconsin, but grew up in nearby Davis, California. Mr. Gürer played collegiate ice hockey as a goaltender for CSU Sacramento, and after graduation Mr. Gürer decided to attend law school instead of playing hockey at the international level for Turkey. As both of his parents are from Turkey, Mr. Gürer speaks Turkish fluently and frequently visits his extended family in Turkey. Aside from playing hockey, Mr. Gürer enjoys reading, testing out new restaurants and breweries, and applying his competitive edge to online gaming.
